Movie Review: Godzilla (1954)

Godzilla is a Japanese kaiju film directed by Ishirō Honda and stars  Akira Takarada, Momoko Kōchi, Akihiko Hirata, and Takashi Shimura, with Haruo Nakajima and Katsumi Tezuka as Godzilla. The narrative is centered on the sudden appearance of a giant monster known as Godzilla (As if it would be anything else), whose attacks trigger fear of the nuclear holocaust during post-war Japan. The film is also noteworthy for pioneering a form of special effects called the situation, in which a stunt performer wearing a suit interacts with miniature sets.      It's hard to imagine anyone whose slightly ingrained with pop culture to not at least be aware of the existence of this big destructive granddaddy of all monsters. For 65 years, Godzilla remains one of Japan's most recognizable symbols for the nation's pop culture, with 35 films and expansions to other avenues of entertainment such as television, music, literature, and video games. Movie Review: Gotti (2018)

I love good gangster films. I love good biographical dramas. I love John Travolta when he's actually in good films. Not to mention he only became boss after organizing the murder of his former boss. Aside from that, he was a very outspoken and flamboyant individual favored by a part of the general public. During which he went through several court cases and continuously tracked and followed b

Movie Review: Gooby (2009)

You know I could have written about how bad  Batman and Robin  were, but instead, we're going to be talking about this today. Doesn't that sound fun?     Following the trend of my friends putting bad movies in my lap to look at,  Gooby  is a comedy fantasy drama written and directed by Wilson Coneybeare. Released in 2009, the film stars Robbie Coltrane as the voice of Gobby, a living teddy bear, and Matthew Knight as Willy, a middle school child who is afraid of moving into his new house.      If there is one word to describe this movie, it would be confused. Despite being called a comedy, the first half of this movie seems to try to be scary with pacing and imagery reminiscent of your standard horror movie. Not to mention the huge uncanny valley present with the title character. The costume is poorly made, and any sort of fun expressions severely lack due to its design aside from any minor movement of the eyes and the eyebrows. Gooby's voice is also n
